This has probably been discussed in the forum before, perhaps even in the past year..... but has anyone here seen the original release of "Sammy Going South" ?

It seems the western world release ("A Boy Ten Feet Tall") is severely edited. 

For some reason or other, England has no intention of releasing this film in its original theatrical version.  A similar treatment as "The Blue Lagoon" from 1949.

I recall reading reviews of the movie before its first release in the US but don't believe it ever got a showing in my area. Since it was so severely chopped for US release, I guess my loss wasn't so bad.

Like so many others, I would love to see a DVD release of the original uncut film.
