Based on novel by Jack Ketchum.

I saw the world premiere last week. Didn't like it very much, but I'm not going to offer any opinion beyond that. Reminded me a bit of The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, in that it's an independant movie based on a cult novel based on a supposedly true story of brutal abuse.

Although it has "girl" in the title, there are a lot more boys in the film, including the main character. The story is framed by a brief intro and conclusion with the character as an adult, but the rest of the movie is the story of what happened during one summer.

The boys are mostly unknown actors:

Just read the biography of Austin Williams at imdb.... what a kid..... and un blondinet at that!

I have a feeling I'm going to hate this movie. More for the story than anything else, but I'll try to have an open mind when I finally get to watch it.

Daniel Manche is currently appearing as JJ Snyder on "As the World Turns" on CBS.

Graham Patrick Martin is currently appearing as Trent on "The Bill Engvall Show," on TBS Tuesdays at 9 and 11PM ET.
