What an idiot !

After going to a nearby bibliothèque (médiathèque) today and deciding not to borrow a dvd from Italy of the classic story of Pinnochio, this has an incredible gallery of that very film (compliments of our beloved Cal Kiss).

Only a real idiot could walk out the door without taking this dvd home for a look!

Argh.     Undecided

It's hard for us colonists to have an informed opinion on the film since it hasn't been released here, but the gallery is nice.  Smiley

This one has both French and English sous titres, Zabladowski.... so if you have a region-free dvd player, it's available.

This is on the BA movie list, and not listed as a tv series.  Or was it originally a series of short films?

Looking at the dvd, it appeared to be a normal motion picture.

Posting Lesson No 3... If you write   movie=1396    inside square brackets, you get the same link, together with our graphics like this...

We do indicate that it is a mini-series.

Mini-series are rather problematic by their very nature. They are usually not a TV series in the traditional form of self contained episodes that can be watched casually or out of sequence. Pinocchio is based on a book and is basically a single story and is more like a movie in that respect. It just happens to be presented in several parts because it would be too long to watch in one sitting.

..and if you read The General Info ob the profile page we have noted:

"Originally released as a TV Mini Series. Now available in a movie length version on DVD. The original runtime of 303 minutes has been edited down to 145 minutes."

Smiley

The version presented on SBS was the full version, I regret not having recorded it. I will do so if they repeat it.
