No new posts in 5 days?

Is it the time of year or what? This forum is really lacking for much (if any) interest from it's members. Maybe there's a reason for that, I don't know, but it would be nice if people would post something, anything, from time to time.

Sooo -- I'l start: Who can identify this boy actor and the movie? I'm sure some of you know.

See, this is what I mean. No response. Not even a guess.

His name is Jorgen Lindstrom in Ingmar Bergman's 'Persona'.

Sorry K, I know I'm "new" here and I don't speak for everyone but these types of threads are a big turn off for me, this forum has been going downhill for a while now and threads like this don't help, the whole forum is littered with whos, whats its and guess ems, I'd much rather participate in some meaningful discussion like that Lockie Leonard thread for example.

Hi OrionPax!  I'm sure if you start up a nice discussion, you'll get some takers!  The "who's this" etc are just to keep something posting, and started when the old board was being moved because no one wanted to do much "work" and then have it vanish (no one was sure if there would be a new site).  Now that we're "established" again, you might find some takers in a "real" discussion.

Another "favorite" kind of post is the "best of 2007" or something... which no one has started yet, as far as I know.  But I'm not a prolific movie-goer, so I have no significant input (unfortunately).

That's fine OrionPax. I respect your opinion and I don't disagree with it....yes it would be nice if we could get a real discussion going here with several members participating. But there has to be mutual interest for that to happen. You or I or anyone may start a thread about an actor or a movie or an issue related to those or other subjects but if no one responds, then what's the point? I'd love to have an interesting forum discussion going and see people get involved. That's how it used to be when I first started posting here in 2004.

I only started my "Who is it?" thread to simply try to get some interest and responses going. Not for me personally, but for everyone so we could all enjoy interacting with each other. Maybe I'm hoping for too much or maybe I'm being too much of an idealist. I don't know. I only wanted to spark some interest in getting people to post something, anything, then we could go from there. I really am not that much into the "Who is it?" threads either, but on the other hand I don't see them as a bad thing. They can be interesting when people participate. I would like to see interesting threads about more substantial topics though. We used to have those here and I guess I was hoping to try to help bring that back. But it's up to the members if they want this forum to succeed or not. I know they're out there, so why not post?

Here's a picture of a fairly new actor named Jaden Ryan in a movie I just posted about last night: "Just Friends". He plays Joey. Any comments about him? I think he might have a future if he can get some good roles.

Unfortunately, I don't know this actor OR the movie... so I checked up on it on IMDb, but not too much there, either.  Does he have a fair amount of screen time?  Did he do pretty well?

I guess this is why it's so difficult to have a discussion... so many films are not available to everyone!  There are SO many great looking films that I just can't get my hands on!  It's frustrating, to say the least!

Well I the thing is Swede I'm quite happy to lurk until some more interesting topics pop up, I was just pointing out to K why myself and perhaps some others may not be posting or replying. However to prove I'm not hypocrite I will do as you suggest and start a few new threads over the next few days Cool

I don't see anything wrong with them either. But this is just how I see it, the forum seems overwhelmed with them at the moment because people cant be bothered to put the effort in and make a real topics. See if you had started a topic titled "Jorgen Lindstrom" and offered up some information and maybe a few pics that might encourage people to talk about him rather than trying to guess who he is, I know ALOT of unknown European boy actors but I still did not know of Jorgen Lindstrom.

Hello, OrionPax,

Thanks for that interesting suggestion. I wish I had thought of doing that. I agree with you -- that's a very good idea and it makes a lot more sense than simply posting a "who is it". I mistakenly (I realize now) assumed that nearly everyone knew who Jorgen Lindstrom is.

Since he is one of my nostalgic favorite European (Swedish) actors of the 1960s, maybe I should start a thread about him. If no one else does, I will in the next day or so. I have some good pictures of him too that I'd like to share.

You would think *I* would have known who Jörgen Lindström was, but being in the US, it's hard for me to get some movies too!  Anyway, I'll certainly see what I can do to remedy that!

While Jörgen Lindström was no conventional beauty, he had a presence and Ingmar Bergman seemed to enjoy working with different views of him, as in this unusual one in "Tystnaden" (The Silence).

Nice. Thanks. Ingmar Bergman did indeed seem to like using Jörgen in a couple of his greatest films: Tystnaden (The Silence) [1963] and Persona [1966]. And a protege of Bergman's, Mai Zetterling used  Jörgen in her controversial film "Nattlek" (Night Games) [1966].

Here are some scenes of Jörgen in Nattlek.

I wish there was quality DVD release of Nattlek.  The version I have is pretty ordinary and worse for wear.

I've actually seen Nattlek, but I did not recognise Jörgen, I didn't even know his name Embarrassed he looks alot different in Nattlek compared to the original pic posted.

Oh joy!  Good news indeed!
If it is 'uncut' so to speak, I'm sure it will sell well. Here's hoping it is accompanied by english subs and perhaps a few extras.

I'm sure it will be uncut, this is Sweden we are talking about. No English subs though only Swedish subs.
