The Orphanage

Check out this film from Spain I just saw today:  The Orphanage, aka El Orfanato.  Really cute lead boy (Roger Princep plays Simon, and he has a nice body [of work that is] already) and some other cute children too, though none of them get as much camera time as I'd like.  But the story is well written, acted, and directed.  The film's language is Spanish, but there are English subtitles.  This is Spain's official submission to the Best Foreign Film Category of the 80th Annual Academy Awards, 2008.

Thanks for the photo.

Are you and I the only ones who come here?  Lonely in this place.

What, am I minced ham?  Grin

Anyway, I am touring Europe again, so I am not online as much now, or have as much time to comment when I DO check what's new.  I do appreciate the posts you two (and others) make, and I am disappointed when there is nothing to look at or read!

Ummm.  Minced ham.  On rye bread with a slice of swiss cheese and some yellow mustard.  Yummy!   Wink

Touring Europe?  I am happy for you, but jealous too.  I have never been outside the U.S.  Have fun!   Cool

I just saw it and absolutely loved it. Two beautiful boys of different ages, one in a major role and the other in a bit part. But what a bit!  Smiley
The plot is tightly sewn and you have to be attentive to catch all the links (I watched it twice.) Very moody and atmospheric and the ending is very moving, although some might snort, depending on critical temperament.  But I cried at the end.
