I loved this series. Paul Giamatti was fantastic in the lead role. That first picture looks a bit like a girl though.

I've never understood what that sort of comment is supposed to mean. Surely it's not a criticism. Are girls ugly? Are boys not allowed to be pretty? Is it his curly hair? What?

He looks darn cute to me, much more appealing than the somewhat over-rated Paul Giamatti who mumbled his way throughout the series.   Smiley

He didn't mumble, Cal, he muttered.  Wink (I had closed captions on for most of the series anyway. I always have trouble understanding what so many modern actors are saying.)
He does have a strange acting style, but I thought he did well. I gave him points for being even more homely than John Adams himself. At least they didn't cast Tom Cruise. Physically, though, Giamatti reminded me more of Ben Franklin's portraits.

Actually, that is not my favorite pic of Steven Hinkle. Laziness prompted me to get all the above caps from the one vaccination scene. He looks a dashing little dude in period costume with a tricorn hat.

I feel I should probably clarify something a little just in case I was misunderstood. Giamatti is a fine character actor but he strikes me as being a method actor. He seems to really get into the characters he plays, however in doing so a fair bit of the dialogue is hard to understand. I had to replay more than one scene several times and still often had no idea what the heck he was saying. I much prefer the Spencer Tracy style of acting, I could always understand what he was saying   Smiley
