I loved this series. Paul Giamatti was fantastic in the lead role. That first picture looks a bit like a girl though.

He didn't mumble, Cal, he muttered.  (I had closed captions on for most of the series anyway. I always have trouble understanding what so many modern actors are saying.)
He does have a strange acting style, but I thought he did well. I gave him points for being even more homely than John Adams himself. At least they didn't cast Tom Cruise. Physically, though, Giamatti reminded me more of Ben Franklin's portraits.

Actually, that is not my favorite pic of Steven Hinkle. Laziness prompted me to get all the above caps from the one vaccination scene. He looks a dashing little dude in period costume with a tricorn hat.
