In the "Making Of" this kid is called Luis, so I assume it is Luis Valle Romero, the only "local kid" played by a "Luis" listed

Luis was probably good at holding his breath, and floating.

UPDATE:

Well, I was able to watch this movie, and it was definitely worth my while.  I was surprised by a few of the scenes... a very "real" portrayal of a 13-year old kid, in my opinion.  Things that seldom seem to be shown or discussed.

Yeah, so I've seen it too... start talking HH!

I assume Hosenhaus was talking about the music (I could have done with a little less myself) and the editing.

The film itself was well worth seeing, but it didn't move me as much as I thought it would.

***************SPOILER************************

After having already seen The Burning Secret and Nachttocht maybe some of the problem is that I expected the betrayal to occur.

That was a spoiler?  Hmmm.  I obviously don't know movies as well as you.

Even knowing the names revealed nothing to me.  I was lucky enough to find more detailed info on the first title right here on BA, but the second title was a bigger challenge... although I finally succeeded.  I see your point though: all three movies seem to have had the same twist, judging by their synopses.

Wonderful movie. I was totally charmed by Gonzalo and ached to adopt his character. I will not comment on the ending.  Wink

If one were familiar with the other movies, it is a total spoiler of the surprise ending.....which I guess I'm assuming had more emotional impact on those who didn't see it coming. As for the rest of it, I don't know that I know movies very well, just certain kinds of movies.  Smiley

Good luck trying to find Nachtocht, it's pretty hard to come by, but The Burning Secret is probably available if you look hard enough. I know there was a VHS version as that's how I saw it.
