Peter Sellers in a dramatic role (not the slapstick he is known for).  Low-key, sensitive, sad.

Sam is an aging busker on the streets of London.  Perhaps he was formerly a music-hall star.  10-year-old Liz and her 6-year-old brother Mark are children from the slums.  At first the kids amuse themselves by pestering Sam.  But gradually they move into friendship.  They help out with his act.  He shows them Hyde Park. When their parents are quarreling, Liz and Mark run off to spend time with Sam.
