That's the Maltese Cross on the left... That's Dmitry Romanov on the right, played by Pavel Melenchuk.  Would you trade one for the other?

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Dmitry is a modern-day distant relative of the Russian Tsars.

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Dmitri is kidnapped, and the Maltese Cross is demanded for ransom.

Here is a decoy.  The clever kidnappers took the clothes Dmitry was wearing when he was snatched, and put them on this boy.  So, seeing him in the distance, they think it is Dmity and give up the Cross.

They took his clothes, poor Dmitry...

Escape!

You saved me!

Looks good to me.  Now to go find it somewhere...

edit: looks like I'm out of luck.  I didn't get even one valid hit on the search... and I don't have usenet, not that it seemed to matter ...  no hits for that either, at least not from google.

And Quantum comes through yet again. I agree with TheSwede. You're a genius dude. And I love hearing all about these movies and seeing these great pics of Pavel. Up until now I had no idea that he was in so many movies. All of this info about him is awsome. And so are all of the pics. The more Pavel the better.   Cool

Well, Паша (Pasha) is definitely an attractive kid.  The DVD doesn't come with subtitles (despite being a "real" Region 1 DVD), and I wasn't able to find any online, so I'm sure I missed out on some aspects of the film (being that I'm not completely proficient in Russian ... I only studied it for one year about 20 years ago).  Then again, the plot is pretty transparent and doesn't really require much more than a simple grasp of reading facial expressions to get what's going on.  Kinda like those Azov films, I suppose - "No subtitles - none needed."

I don't think Pavel will win any nominations for best actor in this particular role, but that could also be blamed on many factors other than his own ability.  The story is weak; the other actors aren't that great; the post production wasn't even close to good - for example, they added some strange grunts, groans, whimpers and cries sometimes, which sounded way too fake and not even in natural situations... that's not poor Pasha's fault!

But, like I said, he's very easy on the eyes, so I watched (passing more quickly through some parts that didn't feature him)... and well, for that it served its purpose.  Beautiful kid.

I think I'll take the Maltese Cross, a boy like that would get me in big trouble.
