Very cute indeed. The one boy looks like a contender for a possible Russian production of Billy Elliott, the Musical.

I wouldn't have thought it to be your kind of film, joseph, but I'm glad you shared.

The IMDB user who reviews it gives it an impassioned defense... Grin

Tatyana Ostrovskaya deserves a separate praise for the perfect music score which is stuck in my mind. "Singing in the Rain" can easily go to hell.

The vote for the movie must be 10 out of 10 and if you disagree, you can go to hell too. Thank you very much for attention.

Thanks for that clip josephk. That was really cute and fun. The dark haired boy is a good dancer. I wonder if he's a Gypsy?

I found another video that looks like it might have those same two boys in it. They dance and sing together in this one. Another cute video clip. Those Russians must love musicals. The dark haired boy especially is charming and adorable.

Yeah, I admit it's not my kind of thing. To be honest, I didn't even have the sound turned out when I watched it. I just thought the boys were cute.

Movie travelling season for me ended early as other priorities sent me elsewhere (and drained my budget).

Have to rely on Netflix for awhile.

I wonder if these sort of films were a genre unto themselves.  There seem to have been quite a lot of them at that time. Ironic that here in the Western world we regarded the USSR with such disdain and pictured it as a place of evil ruled by nasty commies, yet they managed to produce such innocent and seemingly carefree stuff.

I particularly remember the 1950's propaganda images presented to us in the USA which suggested ugliness in the Russian peoples. There were jokes about the communist peasant who had trouble distinguishing his wife from his tractor!

Needless to say, I came to a pleasant awakening in the following decades, thanks mostly to movies showing beautiful women and kids.
