Has anybody else seen this movie yet or have any opinions on the movie or the boy actor's character whom the film is centered around and is narrated by.

I haven't seen that movie so can't comment, but I wanted to ask you something I've been wondering for awhile: Who is that person in your icon picture? A musician?

Oh. Okay. I saw it a few nights ago and I remember I liked it but I can't comment on it myself yet because I was so stoned that night I don't really remember that much other than the boy is really cute, did very good work in the film (which is almost 3 hours long), and narrated the film. I guess you would say that the story was told through the boys eyes.

No. My icon pic is an old one of mine. My hair has always been around that length and still is but it's blond right now for the summer. I might put up some other old ones of mine for the fun of it. Roll Eyes

The film was a massive box office hit here in Oz.

A portrait painting of Brandon Walters has won this year's prestigious Archibald Prize - People's Choice Award.
The little clip here shows Brandon alongside the artist and a glimpse of the impressive winning portrait:

Wow, that's a very impressive painting. It's photo realism is amazing. He looks and seems like a nice boy.
I'm sorry for my ignorance, but is Brandon one of the native people of Australia, the Aborigines? I don't know if that is even still the accepted term there? Is it? In any case, he's a beautiful boy. I'm a big fan of things Aussie.

Yes he's an 'Aboriginal Australian'. There are actually many different aborigine tribes, with their own unique cultures and many different languages. Similar to the diversity found in Native Americans. 'Aboriginal' is the accepted term to describe an indigenous Australian, the word 'native' is not commonly used as is is considered somewhat patronizing. 'blacks' and even 'black fellas' is also acceptable on a colloquial level. 'Aboriginal Australians in New South Wales commonly refer to themselves as 'Koori' which is a regional term.

After having seen this movie about half a dozen times I am finally going to get around to saying something about it from both the producers words and my own.

Australia was filmed in what you term the " Epic" style of films is that is the correct term. Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman join forces with visionary director Baz Lurhmann in Australia, an epic and romantic action adventure set on the brink of World War II. When English aristocrat (Nicole Kidman) travels to this faraway continent, she meet rough-hewn cattle drover (Hugh Jackman) and an enchanting aboriginal child (Brandon Walters). This unlikely trio join forces and embarks on a transforming journey, driving a herd of cattle across hundreds of mile of the world's beautiful and unforgiving terrain. When their world is torn apart by powerful enemies, they must try to find each other amidst the bombing of the city of Darwin by the Japanese forces that attacked Pearl Harbor. With his new film, director Baz Lurhmann is painting on a vast canvas, creating a cimematic experiance that brings together comedy, romance, dramatic adventure, and spectacle.

As I mentioned before I have seen this almost three hour movie many times and have not tired of it yet. I love it more everytime I see it. It is a very magical adventure told through the eyes of a child (Brandon Walters) with a theme song you all will recognize immediately and will transport you back to your own childhood. This movie has pretty much everything in it. Brandon Walters does such an amazing job in this epic adventure and I'm sure he will capture your hearts as he did mine.

If you haven't seen it yet you MUST SEE this movie. I don't think you will be disappointed. Make plenty of popcorn.

Trivia:

Brandon Walters Is of Aboriginal descent.

Discovered at a swimming pool in his home town of Broome by Baz Lurhmann's casting people.
