This is really an add-on to that fine thread started by Phenom:

And is mostly an excuse to post some more caps of that enchanting little actor. I just now got around to seeing 'Australia' and I enjoyed it tremendously. I don't know Australian history or its culture, but from what I've read at imdb from Aussie reviewers, I gather that the movie is to Australian history and culture as the American movie 'The Untouchables' is to American history and culture.  Roll Eyes  In other words, close the history books and just sit back and enjoy the ride. Well, I did. It is a grand and sweeping, exciting, and often touching adventure.

This little guy, Brandon Walters, is the heart of the story, in more ways than one. I couldn't believe how animated and endearing a role he played. You have to hear his sweet voice and the dialect which the script gives him to really appreciate his presence in the film. But here are some more stills, anyway:

It was interesting for me to learn that the actor, David Gulpilil, who plays the boy's grandfather, also played the black boy in "Walkabout" and played Greg Rowe's wise friend in "Storm Boy."

I think he's a fine young actor, a pity there are so few roles for young Aboriginal Australians in this country. They get a similar level of treatment as Native Americans.

David Gulpilil, has given some excellent performances over the years, but he hasn't embraced the ways of the 'white fellas', he much prefers 'going bush'. His own son Jamie Gulpilil, seems talented as well and hardly gets used.

Yeah, this is first truly Epic films to come along in a long time and in spite of the film being almost 3 hours long you can watch it over and over and not get tired of it. Very well done film and Brandon Walters really makes the film so much more fun and interesting which is a testiment to his acting skills.
