Has anyone seen this movie yet? Any opinions?

Although it may have been a little bit on the goofy side being that it is a comedy genre family movie it was still a cute and entertaining movie. Of course, Matthew Knight is a cutie and did a decent job in this film. I think that he is the same boy that was in Grudge-2. Alexander Conti stars as one of Matthew's (Willy's) classmates and he is a cutie too.

"Imagine if you'd had a six-foot tall monster to help you through the rough times when you were 11! Willy is terrified about moving into the family's new house. He's convinced it's filled with evil space aliens out to get him. In response to his wish for someone to save him, Gooby comes to life as a loveable, full-size, scraggly, orange, furry creature who in fact seems more frightened of the world than Willy."

Starring Matthew Knight as Willy and Alexander Conti as Eric. Also starring Robbie Coltrane (Harry Potter's Hagrid) as the voice of Gooby, David James Elliot (JAG), and Eugene Levy (American Pie).

It was just released on DVD in the USA and I have not yet seen it, though it is in my Netflix queue.

I would like to see Matthew Knight in a well constructed film. So far I have only seen him in Christmas in Wonderland and Finn on the Fly. He's been good, those films as a whole not much.

Thanks.

I threw them both on my Netflix queue. I never seem to be around to watch The Good Witch when it airs on tv.....

Does anyone else think Gooby looks kinda terrifying? I think if I were a young child he would give me nightmares.

Anyway, I'm going to skip this movie. It seems to be a bit too silly for my tastes. But I too want to see Matthew Knight in something, so I put Skinwalkers on my rental queue. (They didn't have "The Good Witch" on Zip.ca.)

True, it was a bit of a silly movie and geared towards a younger audience. Nothing really wrong with that in itself. It was just good to finally watch something with Matthew Knight in it. I am going to check out some of these other titles listed.

Yup, I agree to a degree, this movie looks like a cheap throwaway made for video flick, not something an actor would consider a career highpoint.

While I won't disagree with that assessment, Matthew Knight has outshone his material in everything I've seen him in and I suspect he does the same here.

This was such a good movie!  Matthew Knight is fantastic
and he carries the whole film.  A very funny story that works
well especially with Robbie Coltrane being the voice of
Gooby.  (Robbie Coltrane played the part of 'Hagrid' in the
Harry Potter films.)  Very moving and entertaining!
Recommended!
(Hang around for the end credits for Robbie Coltrane as
'Gooby' does a song and dance routine.)

Plot Summary:
Willy (Matthew Knight) and his family are moving which
means leaving all his friends behind, a new neighborhood,
and a new school.  Willy is terrified.  So he wishes for
someone to help him and protect him.  His teddy bear
whom he loved as a toddler named Gooby comes to life
and comes to the rescue.
