I tend to loathe patriotism, especially the flag waving kind but the QANTAS ads, albeit, patriotic in nature seem to have a resonance that transcends the concept. Wistful and yearnful in nature rather than jingoistic. This is a new version of an extraordinarily successful advertising campaign that seems to have evolved beyond commercialism.

Yeah, I've always like that song, and those commercials.  Here's an older version, but equally beautiful.

Most commercials are 30 seconds. QANTAS has always been the exception, though they do have shorter versions.
