How to save a user icon in proper aspect ratio? (Read 3,929 times)

	How can I save my user icon in the correct aspect ratio it should be in and how can I make the icon pic larger? (I know there is a limit on size but I see some poster's icons are larger than others). (no pun intended)

	I'm not sure I understand what you mean. All avatars are resized when they're displayed so that the maximum dimension (either height or width) is 130 pixels. Obviously if your avatar image is square, then both the height and width will be resized to 130 pixels.

	I meant that it appears that when the image is rectangular rather than square, it gets stretched sideways when it's resized. That's what I meant by aspect ratio. So..I guess there's no way around that?

	Maybe it's a problem with the display in your browser. Because on my computer, your avatar looks fine. (i.e., same aspect ratio as the image you posted).

I never thought of that. Yeah, it just might be my monitor. It's a 22" wide screen. Maybe it is stretching the image sideways a little. What else could it be if the pic looks normal aspect to you? In that case, I guess there isn't anything I can do about it. Oh well, that's OK.

	If you right click on your avatar image and select properties, your browser should give you the size details (certainly Firefox does). Firefox says the image is 408px × 605px (scaled to 87px × 130px)
