I'm really surprised that this film seems to have completely escaped our attention until now.

Diary of a Wimpy Kids is currently in North American theatres and doing quite well at the box office.

Here are the three main boy actors. From left to right, Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron and Grayson Russell:

The boys are not in our database yet, but they've all had other (though mostly minor) roles before:

Zachary Gordon has the biggest resume:

And Grayson Russell:

He seems a bit younger in that pic.

This is great, 'josephk', finding this film and all these unknown boy actors. Looks like we'll have to look out for 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' coming to our local DVD shelves!
This is exactly what I like to see ... new film and NEW boy actors. I do hope Zachary Gordon's agent finds him lots of future roles to play as he looks a nice kid. Robert Capron seems to be making an issue of his excess blubber in the last picture. Can't say I've ever been attracted to overweight boy actors. BUT there does even seem to be some wrestling in this film which should be good to watch.
Yes, definitely one for my collection. Thanks again, 'josephk'. Smiley

You know Gee, I was thinking the same thing. Zachary does look a lot like Liam, and that's a good thing.

Zachary Gordon is pretty fine. I briefly read through his resume and I was a bit confused. It says he played the Lincolon Conspiracy Kid. I am not sure what they are referring to but the cute boy in the beginning of that film was Billy Unger. I don't remember any other cute boys in that movie that could be identified as such.

Here is Zachary Gordon as "Lincoln Conspiracy Kid" in the movie National Treasure: Book of Secrets... it's just one scene in the movie ...

Alright, okay, what's going on here? Here I am having just watched The Diary on DVD and last as usual to give my comments. (I wait until the DVDs come down to a reasonable price!)
Who is this Zachary Gordon? Put him on a pedestal this instant! I thought the screenplay by Jackie Filgo and others was really funny, quite excellent, in fact. The issues of going through childhood were wonderfully exploited in this film. Zachary was outstanding in his part as the put upon Greg who suffers all the horrors of being a kid with a rotten older brother, school bullies and the pains of friendships that are on one minute and off the next. Robert Capron was good, too, as Greg's best 'Zoo Wee Mama' friend.
I thought the film was hilarious and I thought Grayson Russell was marvellous as the goofy kid. I fervently hope the sequel is just as good.
I would have to drop half a point for them casting chubby Capron as all boy actors should be slim good-lookers. Another half point off as well for the meager extras you got with the DVD. Only some out-takes titled under 'Deleted Diary Page' and a digital copy to transfer to your iPod or whatever. Who wants that? NO director's commentary and worse NO interviews with Zachary Gordon or any of the other kids. Not even a 'making of' feature. Boo.
