keep in mind that I have no memory of the original movie  all though I must have seen it when I know I saw it when I was young. this new version  centers around Dre played by Jaden Smith. Dre and his mother move to china we Dre is almost instantly becomes the target of the school bullies. eventually he is taught Kung fu by the maintenance man of the building he lives in.Jackie Chan plays Mr Han. this is a cute little movie and i enjoyed  jaden performance was just okay. he is good in some scenes but needs a bit of work on his dramatic acting. overall i give this a B.

Agreed there though I can't put my arms around the film because of my love for the original. I'm going to have the same problem when Let Me In comes out later this year...
