Ender's Game

Well, they've finally started filming "Ender's Game" but unfortunately it's going to star a bunch of "old boys" (12-18 year olds) instead of the age portrayed in the book (6-12 year olds).  There are still some noteworthy roles, however, including Asa Butterfield, Moises Arias, Aramis Knight, Jimmy "Jax" Pinchack, and a few "new" ones.

The movie will apparently release November 2013, and is currently filming in New Orleans.

I'm frankly amazed that this is actually being filmed. The project showed every sign of being scrapped after years of delays. Thanks Swede for the movie and actor profiles, a great job. Smiley
Despite the unfortunate (but probably inevitable) increase in the ages of the characters, that cast still looks VERY promising. Still, I think they better get it on film pretty damn fast before voices start cracking and numerous re-fitting of costumes become necessary.  Grin

Indeed, I think so too.

I think it could already be too late for that... Cheesy  Some of the tweets from the gang seem to indicate that they're growing like bamboo. :/

yeah i am annoyed by the age changes. I think in the book Ender was like 6. It might have been hard to find and actor that young to carry the role. If they had to up his age the should have made him like 10. that the age that was going to be used when Jake Lloyd was  in talks for the role many years ago.

If Ender in the book is 6, and Asa is 15, that's a big departure from the book in my opinion!

Well, the problem is, the book STARTED when Ender was 6 and ended when he was around 12. I think Asa was supposed to be playing Ender at about 13... and the whole movie (understandably) takes place in about 1 year rather than 6.

Smiley I hope to see this movie and Asa BUTTERFIELD in part of Ender. I liked very much the play of Asa in her movies.

Actually, he looks too old for the part.  But that's Hollywood.
