Baby Blues/Cradle Will Fall: Ridge Canipe.

This horror film supposedly based on a true story where a mother of four children has a mental breakdown and starts to kill them off one by one. Ridge Canipe is very good as the eldest boy, Jimmy, and puts a lot of intense acting into his part as he tries to escape from his demented, stalking mother. A fairly gripping film but not listed on BA. The ending could be said to add to the horror but wasn't convincing.
I'm sure other members will have seen this film.

Here's the IMDb synopsis:
On a secluded family farm, a mother suffers a psychotic break due to postpartum depression, forcing the eldest son to protect his sibling from the mother they have always known and loved.
I remember the event , vagely! but in the real story, none of the kids survived. Sad Cry

Thanks for the pics, 'hosenhaus' and 'Itsy'. The film got mixed reviews from the critics, their main points being how the boy could have escaped had he wanted and the stupidity of the father at the end who, having just had three of his kids murdered, is going to let the now pregnant mother return to the household. Why did Jimmy trash the house before going upstairs to radio his father? He wasted valuable time allowing dotty mum to catch him again. What's more important - who calls a boy 'Ridge' and how do you pronounce Ridge Canipe's surname? 'Ca - neep', 'Ca - nipe' or even 'Ca - neepee'? Wink

I just watched it online, I was impressed with Ridge's performance, a beautiful boy, he kinda reminds me of Henry Thomas! Grin
as it turns out, I don't think it's based on the same events I'm thinking of, the incident I'm referring to, the mom drowned all 4 of her kids in the bathtub, and I believe the eldest was 7 or 8 years old. I remember there was a lot of controversy over whether or not the mom should get the Death penalty, she didn't, but I can bet, if it had been the Dad that did this terrible thing, they wouldn't have hesitated!
