Smiley I saw this very good and moving movie this evening. I liked very much the very good play of Philip ALFORD in part of Jem and this one of John MEGNA in part of Charles Baker "Dill" HARRIS. My movie rating is 9/10 !

One of mine too Bowser! This movie was released during the height of the Civil Rights Movement in America! I'm not sure when the book was written, but the movie in a lot of ways parallels this event. It's also a morality tale because Atticus displays perservirence and the face of adversity! plus the movie also, according to my Dad, is a window into what life was like in America in the early 20th century! This movie has been a favorite of mine since my earliest adulthood! and not JUST because of Phillip Alford! Cheesy

Phillip Alford was good in this movie though he had stiff competition from Mary Badham as his tomboy sister. The late John Megna was good in his supporting role. Then again, this was an Oscar movie and is a classic.

The only other feature I ever saw John Megna in besides this movie was an episode of the original Star Trek, a landing party beams down to a sememingly deserted planet that turns out to be inhabited by only kids, John was the one I 've always called the bam bam boy! the episode also co-starred a very young Kim Darby of "True Grit" fame, with John Wayne and Glenn Campbell.
