My favorite age range is from 5 - 13, but it's not a strict guideline for me, if I like a boy actor I will usually follow their career indefinately! for instance, Mac Caulkin, Eli Wood, Barret Oliver (Barret's last movie was Cocoon, The Return, he retired from acting and became a successful Photographer), just to name a few! I just saw Tye Sheridan and Jacob Lofland in MUD (2012) and as of right now, they represent my favorite age range, which would be about 14-16.
Of course, when I saw Barney Clark in Oliver Twist he represented my favorite age, of about 12-13.
So.... it all depends on which movie I saw last.  Cool

Good point! For my also the last movie uusually leaves the most lasting impression.
I'm in my early 50's, I fine it harder an d harder to guess a kid's age sometimes, they tend to look a lot younger than their actual age, at least until that DREDDED Puberic growth spert! Shocked  Fortunately some boys are able to keep their "Boyish" goodlooks well into the teens! and when they do, my age range standards won't apply. Wink

With maybe one or two exceptions, I will follow their career's, but usually at a distance because I most likely won't watch their movies from their adult careers, for instance, Elijah Wood and Sean Astin in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, they both have had very successful adult careers!

10-14 as a general rule, around 12-13 more specifically, but both younger and older are very possible on a case-by-case basis.

I don't find that my "favorite age" changes very much from the last movie I watched, because my range is not very rigid - but I do find that my "watch list" gets adjusted dramatically to accommodate the most recently encountered, enchanting actor I just watched! (For example, after watching Stasse Soulis in a movie, probably "Everybody Loves Alice,"  I sought out every other movie with him that I could find - same for Joel Courtney after watching "Super 8").

[For convenience, I'll post links to those two guys here, because I know that if it were ME reading a post like this, I'd want to take a peek at them again to refresh my memory.]

gee: how can you say teen actors are 'obnoxious'?   Wink
You need only think of His Most Cinematic Highness, Jeremy Sumpter in 'Peter Pan' to realise the true beauty of the boy actor. Or Didier Haudepin in 'Cotolay' to know puberty takes nothing away from the teen boy's beauty.

Me too, I just watched Uriah in Ring of Death! I want to see all of Joel's  movies eventually! Grin
