Joshua Morrell was excellent!  This was his first and only film.

I really enjoyed this film because:
This movie is a train wreck!

The movie is a mash-up of elements, plot points, and scene matching from many different films, such as:

The Shining (1980)
Star Wars (1977)
And these Steven Spielberg films:
Jaws (1975)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Poltergeist (1982)
E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
and others.

The musical score by Paul Gilreath was excellent.  Its also a mash-up of musical queues and riffs from all
of the above listed films.  It was amazing!

The ADR in the film is truly terrible.  For some reason the European ADR houses were just terrible
back in the 80's.

Plot Summary:
Nine-year-old Joey is having a tough time because his father just passed away.  Joey develops
powers that enable him to talk to his deceased father via a plastic toy telephone.  Evil forces are
unleashed.

The movie mashed-up so many different ideas that it was incoherent.

Some things that were just over the top:

Joey develops powers that include communicating with the dead, telekinesis, and pyrokinesis.  No
explanation is given as to how this could be.

Joey had a small eight-inch tall toy robot that looked somewhat like the R2D2 robot from Star Wars.
This robot, named Charlie, could communicate with beeps and whistles (just like R2D2).  The robot was
sentient and self-aware.  No explanation was given as to how this could be.

The Dummy causes all the knives in the kitchen to be stuck into the wall and into the cabinet doors.  The
next day when Joey's teacher comes by, the knives are still stuck into the wall and into the cabinet doors.
No one has removed them.

Joey is killed in the cave-in at the Fletcher house.  Later when he is back at his own house, he comes back
to life. No explanation was given as to how this could be.

From the captures he reminds me a bit of Haley Joel Osmont. Film sounds interesting, I'll add to my watchlist.

He also reminds me of Brandon Cruz because he has that little gap
between his two front teeth.
