This story about a detective who has a huge appetite is adapted from a manga.
With Suga Kenta as elementary-school pupil Kaneda Hajime,
who is recruited to join the detective agency.

This kid, Kaneda Hajime, dresses like Detective Conan (a kid detective)

and has a name that sounds like Kindaichi (another detective).
So of course he is a detective.  This was manga, after all.
Also, he has this dorky haircut.

This is a kid-friendly comedy, and fun to watch.

Released on DVD in Japan.  Also, I think you can get all episodes on YouTube.

It was released on DVD in Japan.  In the past, I have had success with Japanese (and other far-eastern) videos using:

Yes Asia (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
HK Flix (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
Tai Seng (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
Asian DB (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Listings may say whether there are subtitles or region restrictions.

As noted, they are on YouTube, which is where I got them.
If anyone does get the DVDs, and if there are bloopers (in most hollywood comedy releases, they have bloopers on the DVDs), I'll be they're really funny.
