Found this movie on youtube and it is extremely good.  Especially the first part of the film.  The river scene and trying to get home without being seen has been done in several films, (i.e. "De Witte"), but this one might even be better.

Seeing the culture and time period in this film, "Amintiri Din Comilarie", really brings out a sense of yesterday.
