There is this one, with Pavel Melenchuk

Great. I found a good quality version on YouTube and I've added a link on the Yeralash profile page (the episode is Yeralash No. 218 "Focus Pocus"). The YouTube video also has an autotranslate option (from Russian subtitles), though, as always, the results are not always intelligible. I've also added the Yeralash episode as a Guest Appearance to Melenchuk's filmography.

Updated the Profile image for Gary Williams, who was in the pilot episode of the Thames Television miniseries "Spring & Autumn", which is included on the Network (Region 2) DVD release of Series 1. He has a great couple of scenes in that episode with veteran English actor Jimmy Jewel. Wonderful 70s clothes and hairstyles!

Added a couple of links to the Profile page for "Heart of the Country" with Christian Bale. The first is a trailer from a BBC continuity:

[brightness of screencap altered]

Note how at this time the Beeb advertises its forthcoming programmes through an announcer with a beautiful accent, without any gimmicks, treating its audience as intelligent human beings. How times have changed!

...And the second link is to a film clip on another programme (with commentary):

Bale's acting is absolutely wonderful here.

A miniseries written by Fay Weldon and starring Christian Bale....Why has this miniseries never had a DVD release? Why is the Beeb sitting on a gem like this?

Updated the Profile picture for Steven Warner ("The Little Prince") - the previous photo was more a picture of Gene Wilder than of Steven!

Also added Charlie Hawkins ("Spring and Autumn") to the database.

I really must finish the subtitles for "Dva Fyodora". (Incidentally, you can download the movie in reasonably decent quality here:
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
As I say, subs coming up later.....give me a few days.....)

I downloaded the movie... I'm looking forward to watching it. Did you get the subtitles completed? I don't see them on the movie's database page. For some reason I can't log in to the database so perhaps the subtitle link is invisible to me.

Ooops - I completely forgot about them! Right, that's something I need to finish. Thanks for the reminder!

Just so you know I haven't forgotten. I spent this afternoon and evening working on the "Dva Fyodora" subtitles. I'm about half way through and it took me about 5 hours! I'll do some more tomorrow, and hopefully have them finished soon.  Smiley

UPDATE on "Dva Fyodora" subtitles...

I've spent this afternoon working on the subtitles. I'm 68 minutes in, with only the last 16 minutes to go - so hopefully I'll complete it tomorrow.

Once I've finished, I'll announce it here and upload the file to the Profile page.

Then I can go back to updating the database as per usual...  though I did find a little time yesterday to add the perfectly wonderful Viktor Kosykh to the database:

From "Welcome, or No Trespassing" (1964)
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

From the same film. Viktor as the 'Queen of the Harvest'!!! (no kidding)
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Viktor Kosykh at various times in various roles (top middle photo from "The Elusive Avengers", which made all the Soviet girls - and no doubt quite a few boys as well - fall in love with him)

***UPDATE***

"Dva Fyodora" subtitles

IT'S DONE!! I've completed the file, and uploaded it onto the Profile page. This is, so far as I know, the very first time that subtitles for this film have been made available in English. (Owing to my getting hold of a Turkish translation - yep, the whole thing has been translated from Russian to English via Turkish!) It's not perfect - far from it. But it should be enough for you to follow what's going on.

diogenes, many, many thanks for the hard work, highly appreciated by me, I know how time consuming it is to do subtitles.

Thanks! I tried to upload the movie to my YouTube channel, but it was blocked (again) for copyright reasons. (Though a little research reveals that the people making the copyright claim - Kedoo Entertainment - go around constantly making bogus claims. I'm disputing the claim, but it seems YouTube doesn't require claimants to prove their claim, so I don't have much hope.)

Completely unrelated, but if anyone's interested in viewing "Let's Kill Uncle" (1966), with Pat Cardi, then you can download the movie here:

I've managed to add "Dva Fyodora" - with English subtitles - to my YouTube channel! YouTube finally permitted it, despite the bogus copyright claim by 'Kedoo Entertainment'.

I've added the link to the movie Profile page. This is a great little Soviet movie - highly recommended.

I'm a little busy right now, but I'll get round to adding other things to the database soon. Promise!

Added Agnieszka Holland's "A Lonely Woman" ("Kobieta samotna" - TV movie transmitted 1987, but made in 1981). I have also uploaded the movie, with English subtitles, to my YouTube channel (link on movie Profile page). There is also a gallery of some screecaps of Pawel Witczak. This film seems to be his only credit.

Well, I added "Children's Island" (the 1985 TV series, not the 1980 film with Tomas Fryk!).

(I'm aware that there are one or two things to be added that people have contributed to the Forum - I'll get round to them a bit later.  Smiley )
