This still was posted yesterday by TCM in honor of Wallace Beery's birthday. Does anyone know what this is from?

Well, I'd wager that's a "NO" from BA users... if I figure it out, I'll post it here!

I know how frustrating it can be when you post an enquiry like that in the Forum, and no one responds!

I did spend some time with the photo trying to find out where it might have come from, as well as attempting to identify the other actors (besides Wallace Beery), but without success, I'm afraid.

(You could try posting the photo on boysonyourscreen.org and see if you have any luck there.)

I also believe that the still is from   A DATE WITH JUDY and I believe the boy is Scotty Beckett.

Here is a still I found of Scotty when he was a little older in 1950 with  Jane Powell.  Look at the dimples...

Scotty would have been 18 when A Date with Judy was released, so the boy in the photo isn't Scotty if the still is from A Date with Judy.

If the movie IS A Date With Judy, the actor is Jerry Hunter.

The movie CAN'T be the Dennis the Menace movie since Wallace Beery died in 1949 I believe.

Cali_Surf is correct

His name is  Jerry Hunter and he was an actor in the mid to late 40s.  His  character  name in  A DATE FOR JUDY was Randolf Foster

Here is a movie still from   A BOY, A GIRL AND A DOG that he starred in 1946

The girl in A DATE FOR JUDY  is Jane Powell, she was the sister to Jerry in the movie.
Scotty Beckett was also in the film.

Here's another production photo of "A Date With Judy" from ebay:

I've created a profile page for the film:

The trailer (link on profile page) makes the film look unbearably awful! But then 'unbearably awful' is what America is all about!

Completely unrelated, here's Wallace Beery with Bobs Watson in a publicity photo for "Wyoming" (1940):

Wow!! I thought I was out of luck on this one... amazing detective work, cali_surf, quantum, and jonboy! And thanks for adding to the database, diogenes Smiley

As an aside, "Unbearably Awful" is the proper translation for the U.S. motto, "E Pluribus Unum" Wink
