Sounds like the type of horror film I would like and the lead teen looks good too.

Thanks, hosenhaus, for the pictures.

Just bought the DVD of 'The Black Phone' but if it was meant to be real horror then it missed its target for me. While Mason Thames looks good his acting was rather flat considering he had just been kidnapped and locked in a basement dungeon. No screaming your head off for 13 year old Finney. It wasn't explained why the 'Grabber' was kidnapping only teenage boys and what the 'test' was if you managed to get out of the basement which, after all, might have been interesting. For all his menacing psycho and evil mask character, the 'Grabber' was fairly easily disposed of in the end.
The supernatural often doesn't help the plot of a horror film and and it certainly didn't in this one. Okay if you only want a scare but you won't be biting your knuckles.

I think Rober Ebert must have swallowed a dictionary because his written verbiage overshadows any reasonable discussion of 'The Black Phone'. The film in not good and was a cheapskate affair to try on the Stephen King trademark, albeit his son this time, and make some box office money. It had all the horror of a box of popcorn and the reality of a damp squib.

Damien: There's no one agreeing or disagreeing with me on this Board as there is hardly anyone here! Just about only poor hosenhaus tries to keep the cinematic ball rolling on BA.    Wink

As Finney (Mason Thames ) Monster Summer (2024), struggles with life after his captivity, his sister begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone and seeing disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp known as Alpine Lake.

Black Phone 2 is the upcoming sequel to 2022's breakout horror hit The Black Phone, and there's already a ton of terrifying details about the Grabber returns. The Black Phone arrived to positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, with most praising Ethan Hawke for his performance as the horrifying villain at the heart of the story. The movie has retained considerable interest in the years since its release, with teases about a potential sequel coming from Derrickson, Hawke, and original author Joe Hill.

Like why is he back? Didn’t we hang up the phone on him already?? At this point it’s just crap now, it's giving cash grabber instead of horror. Ethan wants to be Bale so bad

A penny for any comments. Since no one has seen the flick,
too early to say anything about it.
