Young Rémi, a foundling, lives on a farm run by his impoverished foster parents. When their money runs out, his hard-hearted foster father decides to take him to the orphanage, but on the way meets an old street performer named Vitalis, who, when he discovers Rémi's singing talent, offers to buy the boy from him. In the company of Vitalis, his faithful dog and a monkey, Rémi has a series of adventures across France, which will eventually lead him to the secret of his origins.

I am a huge fan of French films. I have a database of past films in my head.

Maleaume (I wonder how you pronounce that name) certainly looks attractive but I haven't seen the film.
I like French boy cinema too and we have the French to thank for the great Didier Haudepin (and I wonder how you pronounce that!).   Wink

Thanks, hosenhaus.
