Such a deep topic... in effect it's a microcosm of the Macrocosm we are all suffering as males today.  So many derogatory opinions all around the boy that he REALLY needs help sorting out fact from fiction, and the only person that came close to the second father he really needed to do just that succumbed to the same derogatory opinions himself... everyone so afraid of, or "disgusted" by, what they've been told will go wrong, that they either do all they can to feign disdain (such as the first bullies did while actually admitting their own ignorance of what male love is all about) while the innocent are shamed and discouraged from the meaningful relating support they need to help their lives go right for them.  I Call this entire problem "The Child Molester Dilemma..." because no matter what you try to do about it, it seems as though it won't be the needed choice. The movie is a call for us to stand up for Boy's rights to genuine older male support from the community of males as a part of our social order, as it has been in the past and in various other cultural orders. It's time we worked to help present the other perspectives needed to rescue our male selves from the quicksand of thinking any involvement to solve this dilemma is too much. It's hurt too many good men and boys for much too long now!
