I've upgraded the forum software to YaBB SP 1.3.2.
I've ironed out the bugs I've found, but please let me know by post here or by PM if you come across any others.

love,
Bijou

Is the messenger working ok for everyone else?  The 'messenger' link does not appear on my screen but the 'hey you have messages' thing does work.  I can see what I sent & received but when I tried sending a new message I got a system error screen.

Am I just overloaded on IM's so that I have to delete some?

Nope,, doing the same for me, but as you know, I'm not one to complain.

What I did, to bypass the problem, is click on the PM icon in a posting, and then go into my mailbox.  Works, but very sloppy.

I think there used to be a link called "messenger" in the blue bar that says "home help search members profile notification logout".

Although the link has disappeared for me too, I can get to the messager through the "Hey, josephk, you have 39 messages" link. I just tried sending a test pm and it worked fine.

Sorry, Bijou...I should have been more clear.  The "Messages" bar, or whatever it was called, has vanished.  I wanted to go into the received messages again, and there is no button.  So I went to the forum, and clicked on the "send message to this user" icon below my user name, and got into it that way...like I said, it is a sloppy way to do it, but I didn't see any other way.  I have never received a error message as Teddy said, just don't have the button.

At first I thouht it might be an access level thing, but it seems like everyone registered should have that option, at least that's the way I remember it.

Also, the next day, I had the "new message" thing flashing, but there was no new message. I assume that was because I had clicked on the message icon in the forum, but no message was entered, or sent.  It looks as if clicking that icon, sends a code to the software that one is being sent, but the software, it appears, is not actually checking to see if one has been created.

I just sent a message to Bijou by clicking the 'Hey you got messages' button.  Seemed to go thru ok, no error screen.  I must have encountered a black hole the other day. Grin

Yes...it works that way, but what if you don't have any messages....how do you go about sending one? There is no button as before for that.  At least that I can find!  Smiley

In the message before, I mentioned Teddy, it should have been YoungArthur...the names both look the same, therefore the mistake.

Link restored Smiley
It was evidently an add-on I'd made at some stage in the past - the upgrade over-wrote it, and I'd forgotten I'd had to add it.

The flashy 'You've got new messages' icon should only appear when you've got unread messages. But it'll disappear when you check your messages.

Bijou

Since YaBB decided to bring out another update less than a week after I'd got around to upgrading to 1.3.2, I've upgraded the forum software again.

You'll probly have to login again - there were some changes to the way the forum handles the cookies.

love,
Bijou
