What was your favorite movie released in 2004? If you didn't see any new releases, what movie did you see this year for the first time that you liked the most?

Sorry, that was 2003 also!  Haley hasn't done anything since.  Wonder what gives?  Scott Terra hasn't done anything since Dickie Roberts, either.
One possibility is when kids get into the 15-17 age range, it gets harder to find work because producers can hire older actors, in their late teens and even 20's, to play those parts without having to employ on set tutors to fill legal requirements.  You wouldn't think that would affect someone of Osment's stature, however.

I think Mean Creek might be might favourite from this year, followed by Machuca, Dear Frankie, Duck Season, Vipère au poing, Mirage and Birth.

That's not including movies that don't feature at least one boy in a leading role.

Duck Season: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Mirage: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

My picks were pre-2004 releases also. Elliott gave us a choice between new releases OR movies we saw during the year for the first time.
So there.  Grin

Although I did see a few new releases this year, I'm still working on formulating my list.  Smiley

So I'll answer the second part of the question as well and nominate

as the best not so new movie that I saw for the first time in 2004.

Honorable mention in that category would be Storm Center (1956) with
Kevin' profile picture is a publicity still from this film.

I'm looking forward to your list Zab. I might elaborate a little on mine too. I just put it together very quickly, but there are probably a few other movies that belong on the list.

The Return is amazing and should be on my list as well. It has a 2003 release date on IMDb, but I only saw it this year.

I liked the new Harry Potter also, better than the first two actually. And I really want to see Song for a Raggy Boy.
