SUGAR CREEK GANG

After just saying I don't like kiddy movies, I'm going to post some pics from a film based on a series of children's books.  This link is to a site that sells DVDs made for online sales from the Sugar Creek Gang series by Paul Hutchens.

They present a very idyllic view of the rural south in, apparently, the 30's. There's no mention of depression, segregation or any of the societal ills of the time.

On the other hand, the kids are cute (and their acting is not half bad), the scenery lush and the movies are not over long (about 70 minutes each).
These caps are from the first film in the series, Swamp Robber.

This do look like good movie or series.  I wonder if mabey is after 1930s bcause one boy got flashlight and other boy got white tennis shoes.  I see other movies from 1930s and dont got stuff like that.

There are a number of anomolies in the film that don't fit in the time period, although I believe they had flashlights in the 30's.  The vintage automobiles shown (2) are definitely from that era or no later than the early 40's.  There's also an old radio circa that decade.  The film is very low budget and they probably didn't have the money to make everything historically accurate.
