I just seen dvd of film and it is now one of favorite for me.  When I was 7th grade I seen part of movie on vhs at school in library and now seen whole dvd movie.

It got some part not very much easy for believe it but I like story much and it make me feel like Im at beach and cabin where boy and dad live.  I like pelicans lots too.

It has been ages since I've seen this film, Jasen. I didn't know that it was back in print. I believe it is based on a book, but perhaps I should let our native experts confirm that.

I do know that the film has Greg Rowe in it, one of my three favorite Aussie boy actors of all time. That would be enough for me to recommend it as well.

The place that I know to purchase this or any Downunder film is at EZDVD. They are currently out of it but it is a staple for this site to keep in stock. I purchased my Storm Boy movie from them and highly recommend it. It is a very popular film in Australia. I usually purchase all of my Region 4 movies from them. They are extremely reputable and their prices, if not the lowest, is very good.
