A kid with no friends.  No parents (lives with his grandmother).  A bit strange.

Jimmy (Gaetano Giunta), the popular kid; Alan would so like to be included in Jimmy's group.  But the only reason Jimmy would even look at Alan would be to (yet again) ridicule him.

Caroline, a pesky girl (who has no friends either), always following Alan.  Quite annoying!

How far will Alan go to get Jimmy to notice him?   How stupid is Alan, anyway, to keep going back for more abuse?

I saw this on IFC recently when they had a Short Film Collection block.  It was a pretty good film; pretty accurate in how some kids, especially smart kids like Alan, are treated and how far those kids will go for acceptance.
