I'm pretty sure I know this one, but I will be polite and let the cookie be claimed by an Aussie.  Grin

Too easy for me   Smiley

I actually watched this move again a couple of weeks ago. It's a half decent thriller, survival yarn loosely based on a true incident. Bryan Brown's wife is the main star. Although it's Australian, the movie was originally produced for American HBO.

The title is rather misleading though and is often confused with another Aussie action flick which starred Christopher Lambert.

Hosenhaus hasn't been very secretive in concealing the name of it either.

This is one movie I remember watching on cable many years ago.  I guess the swimming out of the cave was what caught my memory and that of the ending.

I haven't checked the hints but I thought it was called Fortress.  I do remember it was the first time I had heard of Father Christmas.

You got it right St. Mule. I could remember that the name of the movie was the same as another movie with the same name. I was looking of this particular movie. Sorry to say that I could not find it anywhere about 6 months back. I would like to have a DVD copy of it if it out somewhere.

The movie is about a one room school that was kidnapped and put into a large cavern underground. The cavern was shut up and they had to find a way out by themselves. They even had to swim to get out of there. I would consider this to be a must see movie from Australia.
