Sometimes watching a movie I say, "I've seen that actor in another movie."
Well, this puzzle is a variant of that.
I've seen THIS in another movie:

Probably not too hard: Can you identify a movie from a while back with this house in it?

Probably harder: Can you identify the newer movie also with this house in it?

Just a wild guess, but it looks like Mr. McCloud's house on "MAN WITHOUT A FACE".

Actually, I know the answer to the "harder" question, 'cause I've seen the movie at a film festival a couple of years ago. Finding Home, it's called. I hated it.
I don't know if I've seen the house in another movie. It looks vaguely family, perhaps. But there are a lot of houses on the side of the water in movies. I'm thinking of The Birds, for example.

So it wasn't hard after all.
The Man Without a Face
is right.
But they used movie magic to add a bit--dormers and chimneys or such.
Finding Home
is the newer one. When I saw this house, I knew what it was. And IMDb confirms that these two movies were both filmed in Deer Isle, Maine.
Renting the DVD, I could fast-forward to the scenes with this guy...

Hehe.
Fast-forwarding was a good idea.

My immediate reaction was the house by the lake in Martin's Day but it obviously isn't. Identifying houses in boy movies could make an interesting novelty thread.
