has anybody ever head of this movie i remeber seeing the box in blockbuster when i was a kid everytime i would pick iy up but never rent it.

A low-budget French-Canadian film.
Also available in an English-dubbed version.
No 2 in the "Contes pour tous" movie collection:

I remember seeing that movie when I still had a 33 inch waist... many years ago  Smiley

..I'd watch it again.

Yes, it is well worth seeing. I have an old tape of it.

It's a strange fantasy story about a boy who is frightened by seeing a ghost and loses all his hair overnight as a result. The ghost feels guilty so comes to the boy, Michael, and tells him how to make a 'peanut butter solution', to grow his hair back. The solution works too well and his hair keeps growing and growing and growing and takes on a life of it's own.
The boy who plays Michael is a very good actor and he has a pal who is kind of cute too.
Interesting, unusual movie. Good location scenes in Montreal.


Well this is strange -- this one post I made in this thread in July, 2006 does have the Modify option! (I'm using it now.) But all of my other, subsequent posts in this thread do not have the Modify option! What is going on here??

The only "peanut butter solution" with which I'm familiar is composed of peanut butter, maple syrup, and a touch of butter or margarine. Makes a great sandwich!

I'd like to know more about the movie too, though.

Peanut butter (le beurre de cacahuete) might be the strangest thing this tongue has ever tasted, but granted it is interesting.  It proves that Americans have a way of making some odd concoctions, but quite tasty at that.

And it seems that it was also a bit sticky, so perhaps it could work as a "Peanut Butter Solution" in keeping a head of fake hair from falling off. 

But this film story sounds much better.

I've seen it about a million time while I was growing up (along with the other films in the series). They used to play on French Canadian TV quite regularly.

The best film in the series remains La guerre des tuques, but this one is pretty good and weird. I think it's better than the Tommy Trickster ones for sure.

I just logged out and logged back in. Still no "modify" button for my post in this thread.

Strange. I see "modify" buttons in all the other threads.

It didn't work. Nothing happened. My theory is that this thread was begun in 2006 and maybe the Modify function was not installed yet then so it isn't enabled in this thread?
