Boy Actors Video Sharing Site

I was just wondering what folks in here would think about the idea of Boy Actors starting their own video sharing site similar to Megavideo.com for Boy Actors administrators, moderators, and members to upload boy videos to for all Boy Actors members to be able to access and download movies for free or a minimal fee to support the site.

I know by the movies that K uploaded to Megavideo.com (but nobody can download without paying a high fee for what Megavideo got for free by their members) that he and undoubtedly many other members and moderators in here must have vast and wonderful collections of Boy Movies that some of us can't find or just can't afford to buy at regular sources.

Personally I totally enjoyed watching some of the movies I found mentioned in here and I was able to pirate off of Megavideo like "Jet Boy" and "Reach For Glory." I need more!!!

Actually, some webhost providers like Siteground offer pretty massive amounts of resources and space for cheap and supply many of the most popular script programs for building online stores for free and a really nice video sharing program that only costs $10.00 and they will install the script on your site for you.

Anyways, just some "food for thought."

I like the idea but I suspect it would be a legal minefield.

Plenty of boy movies currently available via usenet, or p2p. Also try a 'trading' mate and swap movies with each other.

Hosting a video-trading site is not only of dubious legality, but it's also a fairly complicated and costly operation. It requires a lot of resources, and some dedicated people willing to put in the work of coding, maintaining, etc. And the rewards are likely to be slim.

In my opinion, it would be easier and more productive for people interested in boy movies to share information about which already-existing sites they use. Perhaps if everyone can agree on a few key sites, we could all start using the same networks, thus increasing the number of on-topic material at these sites, thus increasing the interest from people who look for similar content, etc.

There's no reason why a sub-community of people sharing boy-related movies can't exist within a larger file-sharing community.

I don't think it would be any problem from a legal standpoint if you are not charging people for copyrighted materials. If people upload their movies to the site like they do on YouTube or Megavideo just for people to view and not specifically allow downloading of the movies or don't charge for them then I see little legal problems. If people go to the site and use a program like Orbit Downloader to pirate the movies of the site to their computers it's not really anything that anyone would know about or be able to control. Kinda sharing covertly.

The only P2P program I presently use that I know of that I can search for and download movies with is LIMEWIRE. However, I have not had a lot of success in finding boy movies. I've found only a few out of about a couple of hundred I've searched for. Can you suggest another P2P program to use to find good movies with.

I don't know anybody else personally that is into these kind of movies to trade with and such requests for boy related movies would raise suspicions among most people.  Cry

Not as costly or difficult as you might think. Yes it would take a dedicated person willing to put in the work doing the coding and maintainance and so on.

Yes, I agree that this could be a viable alternative if everyone can agree on using the same video sharing site that allows and support uploads of very large files sufficient to upload complete movies. Then people in here could upload some of their respective collections for others of us less fortunates in here to use some of the video programs I have mentioned in here where they can go to these sites and capture the movies and download them without having to pay these sites to download them. The updated versions of Orbit Downloader and the companion Grab++ can download just about anything from any video sharing site like Megavideo.com for free. Then it's an easy task to convert the movies to NTSC format and burn them to DVD with DVD FLICK.

Yup, I totally agree that their should be no problem in forming sub-communities of people sharing boy-related movies.  Roll Eyes

Sometimes I have uploaded files and mentioned it here ...

Just clips, though.  For example:

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) "D-War" Cody clips 185MB

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) "Psych" opening scene S1E07 7MB

While I don't know much about Limewire or the current state of the network I do remember using a different Gnutella client years ago and it was pretty bad. I’ve had better luck finding good movies on eMule and BitTorrent. However in recent times I have moved to sharing stuff via ftps with buddies only like cal mentioned, not because I’m worried about copyright issues etc but eMule is overrun with moron leeches that just hit and run, very frustrating when you are sharing rare files, this is less of a problem with private BitTorrent trackers but the amount of good movies is small. Private forums that share files via rapidshare are another good resource but be prepared to learn to read foreign languages like German, Dutch and Russian.

Whether or not you intend to charge people is irrelevant. Distributing copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder - which is what you're talking about doing - is an offence in most countries (generally a civil offence, but in some circumstances it can be a criminal offence). YouTube and their ilk survive because they operate a takedown policy that allows the copyright holder to have their material removed (although this doesn't guarantee that they won't be sued, but does give them a safe habor defense). There have been numerous cases where material has been removed from YouTube following requests from the copyright holder.

This site is not going to become a host for bittorrent trackers or anything similar. And certainly for films that are readily available on DVD, then my view is you should be renting / buying the DVD.

True. What about Megavideo.com and others like it that allow people to upload entire movies that are not their own nor have permission to do so and then Megavideo.com charges people to be able to download what essentially is not theirs to sell. Anyways, it was just a suggestion. Sorry I mentioned it.

Many of the movies I have read on peoples lists in here I can't either find anywhere in the videos stores to rent or online at Amazon.com and such to buy. I've only found a few on Limewire so far. So what is a boy to do.  Cry

Yup, that's the dilemma. I'd still recommend usenet, it's still a very fruitful resource for hard to get or commercially unavailable films.

cal,

Just to let you know about the changes in the US about usenet.  The top three ISPs have removed all binaries from their servers.  Even some of the commercial usenet servers are missing the feeds even with listing them.  This is in a knee jerk reaction to the state of New York trying to prosecute them if they find child pornography.  So the ISPs "voluntarily' removed all binaries so they don't have to monitor them.  It also allows them to filter off larger files on the rest of the groups.  So usenet is not a good source in the US unless you find one news server that is getting a feed from the rest of the world.

Easynews is a US newsgroup server, and doesn't seem to be slowing down. They have hundreds of binary newsgroups, which contain everything from full DVD rips to divx recordings. TV shows and movies galore, both old and new. They rely on binaries posts for the bulk of their business.
