Somehow, I don't expect it to see a similar ad here. Although it's fairly subtle I've a feeling it could easily be detrimental to their (McDonald's) business if conservative sections of the community view it negatively.

I don't think McDonalds would risk running an ad like that here in America either, for the same reasons. The right-wing hard core conservatives would jump on that and make it into some big crusade against "the family" or some such mindless nonsense. McDonalds, like all corporations, is all about making money and they won't jeopardize that needlessly. In France it's probably different. They are a more tolerant society than the US.  I watched the ad and it's handled quite tastefully.

Boys should not be encouraged to eat at outlets like McDonald's. It's all fast food fatty crap resulting in far too many nice boys looking like roly-polys.
I often wonder what food boy actors eat when they are on set and having food prepared by these mobile catering firms. (You see them listed on the film credits). That must be an interesting job as you get to dollop the mash and Brussels sprouts on some cute boy actor's plate. I would always have given extra helpings to Jeremy Sumpter, Joseph Mazzello, Elijah Wood and even 'nasty' boys like Blake Woodruff in 'Whisper'! Wink

I'm certainly no fan of McDonalds myself. I haven't bought a meal from them in many years. Kids seem to love it though, so as long as they eat in moderation I see no harm in it. My beef (excuse the pun) with McDonald is more to do with the way they impact negatively on the environment.

I'm not sure we can blame companies like McDonalds for obesity, I rather think that parents are the cause.

I also am not a fan of fast food outlets, however I can only congratulate McD on finally recognising that there is another demographic out there - I wonder which countries will allow it to be broadcast? Undecided
