It took me 20 years to track down a copy of this movie.

Wow. Congratulations for finding it and thanks loads for posting it. I too had been hoping for years to be able to see this again. A priceless boy performance.

I thought 'Dragnet' was a TV series! I can't say I even remember any of the episodes much less a boy actor's performance in one.
BUT being one who enjoys finding obscure boy actors, I can appreciate another BA member taking 20 years to find Gerald Michenaud (who? what?) wonder how you pronounce that!
'YoungArthur' describes Gerald as giving "a priceless boy performance." Really? This reminds of my own quest to find the obscure boy actor who appeared in an episode of The Ray Bradbury Theater called 'Counting By Numbers'. This featured a boy in Speedos helping his oddball nutcase of a father run a hotel outdoor swimming pool. The boy is made to march around like a robot, obeying his father's orders to the letter which turns out to be unfortunate ... for the father! I'm sure the boy's surname was Pennington or something similar. Smiley

Apparently the boy actor's name is Ciaran Pennington. The name of the episode is "By The Numbers", aired in 1992. That's all I could find out about it.

Is this Ciaran in that episode?

Back on topic...

Thanks for the link to this clip K. It made my eyes leak a little. Gerald is one of my all time favourites and I've never seen that episode. He often wore shorts, one of only a few 'American' boys from that era to do so. most of them usually wore jeans, slacks or overalls. I'll add that clip to my Gerald Michenaud folder.

Cinefan, Michenaud, is pronounced as "Mish/en/o", well at least that's the way I've always pronounced it.

You know what I like about this boy actors site? It doesn't matter how obscure the obscurest boy actor is you'll get all the info you want here! Bloody wonderful!
You are spot on, 'K', that is the Ciaran Pennington I was thinking about. Whatever happened to him I wonder? I remember that episode (even if I got the name slightly wrong) which struck me as being faintly erotic what with this poor kid looking ever so wonderful in his neat Speedos getting ordered and humiliated by his whacky father.
Thanks for the pic, 'Hosenhaus', and the Michenaud pronunciation, 'cal'. My avatar is of the French boy actor Didier Haudepin (he was robbed of an Oscar for his outstanding performance in 'This Special Friendship') so I would pronounce his name Hau-de-pon! Wink
Thanks again fellow BA members! Smiley

As to the original topic....I had seen most of that movie on AMC (before they let their network go to seed).
Would love to get to see the rest, although you definitely captured the best boy performance moment in the film from what I recall.
It was a pleasure to watch that part again.

You can now purchase the complete Dragnet 1968 season episodes and as a bonus it includes the Dragnet 1966 movie from which my scene with Gerald comes. There's also a biography of Jack Webb with former actors from the show.
I got my copy from Amazon.com

I've had those 65 episodes for some time now.  Wink I made the profile for the Ray Bradbury Theater as well as the one for Ciaran Pennington - knowing as little about him as most everyone else.

And I too have the Dragnet set in question on my Netflix queue. We will probably be competing for them.  Roll Eyes

I can hardly believe that no one would comment on this very interesting TV show. This place is deader than I thought it was.
