By the way: PKZip is not an option for me. I don't have the software.
The only compression method available to me is Winrar and that is not recognised here.
Isn't there a way to attach an uncompressed file?
The srt file I want to upload is about 90 kilobytes.
I do hope there is a solution for my predicament.

You can add non image files as attachments using the Attachment box on the posting form. Not all boards allow attachments (this one doesn't and the gallery board doesn't) - the General Board does.
I've added rar and srt to the permitted file extensions for attachments.

Thanks a lot!
I am gradually learning the ins and outs of this forum.
So sorry that computer manufacturers nowadays seem to discourage any initiative by their customers. Whatever happened to good-old DOS, PKZip, GWBasic and all the other nice features?
They were like good friends. I miss them.
