And who would star in it?? It could be called a "Dream Movie" as in a "Dream Team" for (American) football! Where you get to choose who directs, who produces, and who stars! and it can be ANYONEyou choose!

Interesting post, moviebuff12345!
I would go for a movie in the category 'Coming of age' or else a family drama. As for the star, the director and the producer: I have no names available, but I would very much like it to be a French production.

My Ideal boy movie would have to star Macauley Caulkin(age 9) in the lead and Jeremy Sumpter(age10) as his brother and they have a club and the 2 brothers
and there friends try to solve mysteries that come up in the  neighborhood. two of there friends from the hood would be the Sprouse twins(age9), and Cole would always be trying to be responsible, and Dylan always be trying to figure out a way to either make money or get the girl!
Mac and Jeremy would be devoted to solving the mystery.

Ganymede. Cupbearer to The Gods.
Has there ever been a movie made about Ganymede, if not, why not? We all know the legend and many things have been written about him from an innocent youth snatched by a god to an infamous catamite who seduced a god. The film could be under many categories such as coming of age, drama, thriller, comedy, gay themed or as some would hope for R rated. An international search would have to conducted to find the most handsome boys between 12 and 14 years of age to audition. Please post any thoughts or comments.

Interesting.  IMDb found these titles:

The Rape of Ganymede (2001)

Kiddy Fiddler (Ganymede & Zeus)

Zeus & Ganymede: Two Loves (2012)

Interesting indeed. The first one is anime, the third one is probably too new to have caught attention.
The second one inspired me. I'm not so much interested in violinists, but I do like to fiddle about. If ever there is a remake of Tommy, I'd like to play Uncle Ernie.

Ganymede. Cupbearer to The Gods.
Thanks Hosenhaus for finding these films but as Benjamin says two are anime and the third is not even close to what I was suggesting.
Zeus & Ganymede: Two Loves, is a short animation film
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
The Rape of Ganymede
An animated retelling of the Greek legend of the abduction and rape of Ganymede
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
Kiddy Fiddler (Ganymede & Zeus) [2005]
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
What I was thinking of was something like "The Immortals" with a gay love theme. May be our BA members could offer their suggestions as who they think could play the role of Ganymede.

My ideal boy movie would be the ultimate version of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The Selznick version with the precious little Shirley Temple clone Tom Kelly didn't perfectly fit my notion of Tom.  Jackie Coogan (1930) had the acting chops to put his own spin on Tom Sawyer, but Coogan wasn't the epitome of boyishness IMHO.  I would cast Don O'Connor as Tom Sawyer and keep Coogan's co-star, the amazing Trent 'Junior' Durkin as Huckleberry Finn.

Don O'Connor actually played Huck Finn to virtual perfection in Tom Sawyer, Detective (1938), so he could recreate that essential barefoot backwoods authenticity.  But Junior Durkin went beyond perfection, as if Huck jumped right off the page into real life.  Maybe the best acting realization of a literary character, and not just of boys.

Billy Cook excelled as Tom in Detective.  Though based on a lesser work, I think Detective is the best film adaptation of any Mark Twain story, featuring delightful Americana to surround the two masterly boy actors. So I'd use that director Louis King.

But O'Connor could summon Tom Sawyer's extroversion and trouble-making charm better than any actor I've ever seen.  The key to the pairing is Huck's willingness to be submissive to Tom, even though Huck is much smarter of the two.  A natural 'leader of the pack', O'Connor could impose just the right sprinkling of pleasant bossiness for the much cooler Huck to submit to him.  Check Don out in Boy Trouble (1939) to see Tom Sawyer teleported into the 20th century.

O'Connor also stood out in young love roles, essential to playing Tom Sawyer.  I'd pick Sarita Wooten, O'Connor's girlfriend in On Your Toes (1939) to play Becky.

There are many surprisingly authentic foreign versions of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, better than most American versions, I think.  But Don O'Connor and Trent Durkin are Ultimate Boy Titans, IMHO.
