Many years after his tragic death, River Phoenix makes the headlines again. "Dark blood" had never been released. The movie will now be shown at the Dutch Film Festival. Of course he was already past the age of 15, so there will be little interest from visitors to BA. I thought I'd mention it anyhow.

River was his families only means of support, until Leaf (Joaquin) started acting, I think that's too much pressure to put on such small shoulders! And I think that's why River ended up turning to drugs!

Thank you very much!  But River Phoenix was stunning right up to the end at 23.  Earth-shattering at 17 in Jimmy Reardon (his peak IMHO) and still sizzling at 21 in Private Idaho.

It was River's younger brother Leaf (aka Joaquin) who morphed unrecognizably between the ages of 15 (Parenthood) and 21 (To Die For).

Leaf as a still smokin' 'Joaquin.'  The hellfire in the eyes is the giveaway: that's definitely Leaf Phoenix post voice-change.

By the time of Dark Blood, River and Joaquin look like twins.
