At the end of World War II in the chaos of the bombing, the two 13-year-old "blood brothers" Alex and Ferry in Hallein fight their war by certain everyday. As Ferry is sent to protect against the attacks of the Alliiertenin the Czech spa town of Bad Nymburg, Alex follows him against the wishes of his parents. The friendship of the two boys is set to be put there by violence, politics, and the first great love to the test.

Light and dark ... it's all there with those two. To think boys that age did wear shorts in those times. In the second pic it is interesting to note, the little kid in the background wearing modern droopy shorts and floppy shirt. Totally miscast.
These are the sort of films I might be lucky enough to find in the 'World Cinema' section at the DVD shop.
