Heinz Stielke, 15 years old is in the Hitler Youth and proud of his father who died for his fatherland a heroic death. But unexpectedly it cames out that he is a half-jude , he is thrown out from the gymnasium and has to flee from his schoolmates. A bomb attack kills his mother. Under an emotional shock he travels from place to place withouth knowing where to go. First an official creates a sympathy and sends him to another city where an SS officer tries to recruit him into an elite school. Then he ends up in a strict education camp where psychological pressure and punishment are daily routines. A girl becames his friend and he also makes his first love experiences with a women.
