There have been so many versions of this story on film. Which one is your favorite? Mine is the 1999 version with Patrick Stewart and Ben Tibber as Tiny Tim.

Actually, I was hoping for a thread about favorite Tiny Tims and Young Scrooges. Wink

However, I've always thought the muppet version was quite good.  Tongue

Well, for that matter, the Mr. Magoo version was pretty good too! Really, no joke.

For overall quality my favorite so far is still the 1951 Alastair Sim version. Glyn Dearman was very good in that.  For cute boy actors I would have to go with the 1938 one with Terry Kilburn and Ra Hould.

I should be receiving a rental copy of the 1999 Patrick Stewart version in about a week.

Sorry Elliott, I missed this thread.   Embarrassed

My favorite version of a Christmas Carol is the 1938 MGM version with Terry Kilburn. I like it more than what most critics view as the ultimate version, the 1951 British film.

There are scenes unique to that film (sliding on ice, tiny tim & bob in church etc.) that resonated with me more than the others.

My favourite Scrooge is Alistair Sim.

Terry Kilburn was my favourite Tiny Tim.

Ben Tibber actually played the role of Tiny Tim in two movies.  A modernized version was made in the UK in 2000, a year after he did the Patrick Stewart movie.

Other Tiny Tims include:

Richard Beaumont
Anthony Walters
Glyn Dearman
Philip Frost
Timothy Chasin
Colin Graves
Taran Noah Smith

and in 2004 Jacob Moriarty

gee,

It was on TV here this week...  dunno if it is on DVD or Video.

Here's a cap for you

TNS as Tiny Tim in "Ebbe" (1995):

TNS is not in it very much... and the movie is an unecessary and tacky reverse gender piece of drek.

I like this movie a lot.  My mom don't watch Christmas shows no more on tv but I do.  I watched this movie tonight and I like it ever since I was about five.
