Did anyone else happen to see this new reality show debuting today on Bravo?

It profiles several families with kids who are sporting prodigies. A strong contender for the most loopy parent in the series is Craig, obsessed football father of Trenton, star player for the Glendale, California Bears. I thought the series was riveting in the same manner that train wrecks are.  Smiley

I liked the first series: Showbiz Moms and Dads.  Most of those parents seemed to actually love their kids and didn't have the attitude "winning is the only thing."  The surprising thing about the first series was the publicity, which talked about how crazy and obsessive these stage parents were.

With Sports Kids Moms and Dads, the producers have read the publicity, and only invited the crazy parents to be on the show.  So we have a dad who starts the show by saying, with a straight face, that he believes his son chose him to be his dad.  Why?  His son wanted to be an NFL champion, so he turned to this failed dreamer who couldn't make it to the NFL himself.  This seems to be what the whole family revolves around.  Poor Trenton, and he's only 8.

The only good thing about this show is that maybe it will force some of these sad families to change what they're doing.

I read somewhere that this dad had an "intervention" on Oprah the other day and claimed to realize that he needed to ease up.

For what it's worth, this picture of Trenton comes from his agent's website; so in between that daily football practice there must be some time for modeling and acting.  Grin
