Excuse the thread title, I don't mean 'my thread' in the possessive sense but it's to remind me where I can add a single image or a couple of caps from something I've just watched without making a big deal about it.

------------------------------------------------------

I got around to watching an inspiring doco today. 'The Horse Boy' is one you should all at least check out. I found it to be a terrific pick-me-up film. A couple of amazing parents take their kid on a very special journey. 10/10

I'm not feeling well, so I'm just watching:

Billy Chapin was so good in "The Night of the Hunter", I just had to check out this episode of "The Zane Grey Theater". He appeared in an episode with Ernest Borgnine, who was at the top of his form after winning an Oscar a year or two earlier.

Not brilliant stuff, but still very watchable  6/10

Here's something that was easy on the eyes:

Jakten på nyresteinen (1996) AKA: Chasing the Kidney Stone

I made rather a lot of caps from this one, in fact the visuals were far better than the story or the action. Rewatchable, for the visuals, which rate highishly on the cuteometer.

The movie itself is a 5/10. A film like this deserves a separate boy actor rating of 8/10.

Talking about visuals... this next one gets a 10/10 for that side of things:

De Wereld van Ludovic (1993)

I've watch this about 3 time over the years. I'd probably watch it more often if it had English subs, alas, French dubbing is rather easier to follow than the original Dutch. My French is very rusty but I can grasp enough to garner a pretty good idea what is going on. Mathias Coppens is perfect and the story is sympathetic to the plight of the two preteen lovers.

An incredibly capible movie. Highly recommended, even if you can't understand a word of Dutch or French, the goings on are easy to follow.  9/10

Did you watch this one in the original Norwegian, or the English (American) dub? (or even the French dub...)

Is this readily available, or did you "acquire" it?

I LIKE your thread, Cal.

If that is Mathias Coppens in the pink and white boxer swim trunks, he looks just sensational - perfect boy physique in the perfect shorts.
At first glance, he made me think immediately of Branden Nadon.

Nice thread indeed.

Not to be too picky about details, but it looks like the aspect ratio for the Chasing the Kidney Stone caps is ever-so-slightly off. Aspect ratios can be such a pain in the ass! But nice caps nonetheless - the first images I've seen from a title that had me curious.

Thanks.

It is unfortunately the dubbed version, in American English. That's probably one of the main reasons I'd only rated it 5/10 as a movie. I tend to loathe dubbing. The DVD is good quality video, so a plus in that area, but disappointed that there is no original language option, with english subs.

Acquired, however I'm assuming the series is available via retail. I think it is the only episode of the entire season that had a boy actor in it. I can always send you stuff if you want... just let me know.

Yes indeed, that's Mathias. He was quite the perfect looker. Movie is well worth acquiring. I'm amazed that there is no official retail version or english dubbed version on DVD. It would sell in truckloads.

You are right. My standards are definitely slipping, heh, I was too lazy to do any tweaking. I've now fixed them up a bit...

...and replaced the earlier caps.

...and tri more...

I rather like Torbjorn's face, he reminds me of a boy I once knew.

I'm finding one on imdb from 1993, a TV movie... I'm guessing that's just a typo that says 1983?

I have also found this on blizzard.xerz.net, for anyone who figured that site out.

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

As far as I can tell, it's the French-dubbed version of the film...
