Thanks for the tip Del; I was able to track down this version. Now I want to see the others as well. I am particularly interested to compare it to the 1940 release.

I second your comments as to Alex Pettyfer, he is certainly an actor to watch.
The other boys, in particular Harry Smith as Arthur, were also quite good.

My only grumble is that the villainous fifth years were miscast. I am presuming that a fifth year should be approximately 17 in real life, the gentleman playing these roles were in their mid 20's.

If you can play PAL discs, this has been released on DVD in the UK. The disc is All Regions, so you don't need a multi-region player - just the ability to play PAL discs.
